holiday with us. to see him interact with other dogs, and how well—behaved he is, considering the start in life that he had, fills me with such great, immense joy. living on my own with lenny, it's quite - difficult for me to sort of go out and do things, so being able to| bring him along isjust absolutely amazing. . here's your blanket. thank you very much. a cover for the seats, water bowls scattered round the screens, and the volume was turned down slightly so not to scale the smaller dogs. cinema city in norwich also allowed more time after the show for a deep clean, in case there was any accidents or if any with an allergy turned up to the next screening. i've worked in cinema for over 20 years, and i love making the cinema accessible for all, whether it be through the technology we use orjust by opening to dogs and dog owners. here, they planned to have dog—friendly screenings every month. so, at this cinema, expect to see more pooches when you're purchasing your popcorn. dog barks.

robbie west, bbc news. time for a look at the weather. here's darren. it could be raining cats and dogs later this week, but today the best over the weather is across the eastern side of the uk, in the sunshine. the southerly wind is pushing the warmer air further north, so it is a warmer day today in the midlands and northern england. and parts of scotland, where we could reach 16 or 17 degrees. cooler out to the west once again. yeah, we are continuing to see more in the way of cloud, bringing further outbreaks of rain, particularly across wales on the south—west of england. we may get some sunshine after the rain in northern ireland. still some rain for western scotland. the chance of one or two light showers in the west of england. after dark, things will change, because the rain eases away from western areas and we see outbreaks of rain pushing northwards across eastern parts of england. mist and fog four eastern areas of scotland. quite a mild night
1:32 pm
tonight, if anything, temperatures in the south—east will be higher than last night. we do have some rain to start with in north—east england, that will push into eastern scotland for a while, where we still have mist and low cloud. for western scotland, a brighter day, with one or two ago showers. a few showers developing in the midlands, rain moving into southern parts of being led later in the day. for western areas of the uk, likely to be warmer than today, particularly so for north—west england and western scotland. eastern scotland and north—east england could be a little bit cooler. after dark we have the risk, just way short while, of thunderstorms affecting the midlands come into wales, perhaps a large hail and gusty wind. that should be clearing away by thursday morning. the weather front is stuck crossing the don wales on thursday. to the north of it, a westerly wind. that will bring warmer air in from the continent. the warmer air is coming across the cold sea and these are the sea temperatures, eight or 9 degrees. at best it will feel cooler
1:33 pm
across north sea coasts and there still could be mist and low cloud on thursday. some sunshine away from these areas across scotland, perhaps northern ireland. to the south we could see further rain developing, which could turn heavy and sundry. to the north of the rain, north—west england, north midlands and east anglia, quite warm and we could reach 20 degrees and western areas of scotland. cooler weather continuing in scotland, a few showers here. more rain across england and wales, may be moving further north and allowing sunshine in the south. thunderstorms and northern england will drop the temperature is. but we could reach 20 degrees in western scotland. that's it. now, let's join our colleagues for the news where you are. hello and welcome to sportsday — i'm jane dougall. it might be a gamble butjofra archer has been recalled

to the england squad — despite not having played competitively for almost a year. no english teams, but two of england's best will face each other in the champions league later tonight. and, water sportsjoin together to call for rivers, lakes and coasts to be cleaned up in the uk. welcome to the programme. he's been frustrated with injuries for the last three years, and it's been almost 12 months since he last played a competitive match, butjofra archer has been recalled to the england squad for the defence of their t20 world cup title in june. he's one of several surprises in the provisional squad, with fellow fast bowler chris jordan also recalled, but chris woakes misses out. archer missed all of last summer after a recurrence of the stress

fracture in his elbow. there is a four—match t20 series against pakistan which begins at headingley next month and it's believed archer will try to prove his fitness during that series before he is considered for england in barbados, the country of his birth. earlier i spoke to our chief cricket writer cricket stephan shemilt and began by asking him if it was a gamble to pick archer. it really interesting call from the england selectors because we know how talented jofra archer is, he burst onto the scene in 2019, famously bowled that super over that won england the 50 over world cup but pretty much since that point has been plagued by injuries, back problems most significantly, the right elbow issue that kept him out of all last year's home summer and meant he has not played any
1:36 pm
top—level cricket since last may. but england are aware that may be the fast bowling department is their weakest area of 13. they have been really cautious in the way that they have brought archer back to fitness. maybe there is a feeling that he has been rushed in the past. —— weakest area of their team. he may be ready to go not only for the world cup but for the four t20s against pakistan at home that precedes that tournament. one thing that rob key was also keen to stress today, that archer is really keen, even for a character as cool as he is most of the time, to be playing in the world cup, to play for england in barbados, the place where he was born. there is no doubt that if jofra archer is fit and firing england look a more complete package. d0 england look a more complete ackaue. ,, england look a more complete ackaue. ~ england look a more complete -ackaae. ~ , . , package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky _ package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky to _ package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky to miss _ package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky to miss out - package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky to miss out or- package. do you think chris woakes has been unlucky to miss out or are j has been unlucky to miss out or are we seeing his england career tapering off?— we seeing his england career tapering off? the way this was

1:39 pm
but there are still two key english players involved. the first leg of bayern munich against real madrid is tonight in germany — a game, which — over here — is being billed as harry kane againstjude bellingham. bellingham trained with his team—mates in munich last night. the 20—year—old has scored 21 goals in his debut season for real, helping them to an 11—point lead in the spanish league. they're also aiming for a 15th champions league title. bellingham's england team—mate kane has also enjoyed a productive season with his new club. he's scored 42 goals in all competitions for bayern, more than in any of his seasons at tottenham. but he is yet to win any silverware. after ten titles in a row, bayern lost the bundesliga to bayer leverkusen — so the champions league is their only hope of a trophy. coach thomas tuchel, who is leaving at the end of the season, says small margins will be important against such a formidable side.

there is no way to play this game without the lock on the day. if you hit the post, it's the inside of the post, it's the outside of the post, it's a fraction offside, onside, you need these little decisions, of course, you need the momentum, bit of luck and you need the whole package if you want to overcome real madrid in a semifinal. we want to force things to a point where maybe this little luck is then the difference but we cannot over rely on it, for that it is not big enough, so we have to push it and we feel ready for it. let's take you to the world snooker championship in sheffield where the quarter—final stages are well under way with world number twojudd trump taking onjakjones as he looks for a second title. trump opened up this match with a superb 11— break, then he fell away, jakjones showing how dangerous he can be with, taking the second and third frames. trump has shown his class taking the pink and black at the end of a

1:42 pm
and spiritually come everything, to be able to play this game alone and then to try to play at a high level is very taxing, it is a lot of dedication, hard work and a lot of long hours. there are nine water—based sports in this summer's olympics in paris, including rowing — some of them in the pool, but many in outdoor water. there have been calls for action to address water pollution and several uk water—based sports have united to demand that the uk government addresses pollution in rivers, lakes and coastal waters. they want compulsory monitoring of all sewage outlets to protect participants. chair of uk sport, dame katherine grainger, says it's a vitally important issue, but she does worry that highlighting it could deter some from taking up sports. i think on a positive more and more people are talking about it so the awareness has grown and grown but the flip side of that is why it still feels the waterways could be dangerous, orat still feels the waterways could be dangerous, or at least unhealthy, thenif dangerous, or at least unhealthy, then if you were a parent, if you were in charge of groups especially
1:43 pm
of young people, would you want your young people you are in charge of all parenting going into those waterways if there is a risk and danger? so i would worry that it's going to have a negative effect on participation. the plus side is because there is an awareness, because there is an awareness, because there is action being taken, because there is action being taken, because conversations are happening, hopefully it will flip it and we will get cleaner waterways because of it. it is sporting bodies coming together in the alliance, individual athletes speaking out, but we work closely with the government and we want to influence the water companies. everyone who has a voice and a leadership role and a part to play in this, if they haven't stepped up already, this is the time to step up because we will ultimately run out of time. this is still reversible, there are still the good fight to be fought and changes made, but i don't think we can sit back, the sense of urgency is only growing and those in leadership roles need to really make this matter now.—

1:45 pm
another person described hearing someone shout, "she's been stabbed in the face". video posted on social media shows a man with a large knife, which the police described as a sword. a 36—year—old suspect is now in custody. officers say they don't believe the incident is terror—related. roads in the hainault area remain cordoned off, and there remains a big police presence. when the incident happened this morning the local tube station was shut and bus services re—routed. the local mp wes streeting has said the whole community is devastated by the heartbreaking news that a 13—year—old boy was killed in what he called the horrific sword attack. stuart bell is a chief superintendent for the metropolitan police, he gave us this update from the scene. you will be aware that serious incident occurred here at this location this morning. police and ambulance services were called and deployed to a number of casualties.
